Vastas manufactured the Ball Valves, Gas Over Oil Actuators and Check Valves of HEAT’s Gas Turbine Skids for SEWA (Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority).
The existing Al Layyah power plant generates 896MW electricity, with the expansion project there will be a new 1.026GW natural gas-fired combined-cycle power plant constructed within the existing Layyah power plant site in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
The Gas Turbine Skids are made in Austria by Heat and sent to Sharjah to be used in Al Layyah Power Plant project.
New gas turbines are expected to have an output ranging from 570MW to 1,130MW.
Vastas supplied over 100 Ball Valves, Gas Over Oil Actuators and Check Valves for the skid. The actuators were customized for the Project. The shutdown time is reduced by 1/3 of the standard and the stream can be shut down in 4 seconds.
